What is SPAM?
Spam is any email you send to someone who has not given you direct permission to contact them on the topic of the email. You need to have a valid lawful basis (consent, contract, or legitimate interest) to send marketing emails.
Mailazy has a strict zero-tolerance anti-spam policy. Customers who send spam will be terminated.
Permission-based Sending
To send marketing or commercial email through Mailazy, you must have explicit permission from every recipient to contact them on the topic of your message. Acceptable permission sources include:
- The recipient signed up to your newsletter or product
- The recipient is an active customer of your business
- The recipient explicitly opted into receiving messages from you on this topic
Prohibited Sources of Contacts
You may not use Mailazy to send to contacts acquired from any of the following sources:
- Purchased, rented, or leased lists from any source
- Lists scraped from public websites, social media, or directories
- Co-registration, co-marketing, or "free email lookup" services
- Old contacts (over 24 months) without re-confirmation
CAN-SPAM Act Compliance
All emails sent through Mailazy must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and equivalent regulations in your jurisdiction (GDPR, CASL, PECR, etc.):
- Don't use false or misleading header information
- Don't use deceptive subject lines
- Identify the message as an ad where applicable
- Tell recipients where you're located (physical address)
- Honor opt-out requests promptly (within 10 days)
- Don't make recipients pay a fee or provide personally identifying information to opt out
Restricted Content
The following content categories are restricted on Mailazy and require pre-approval. We may reject or terminate accounts attempting to send these without authorization:
- Financial services (mortgages, loans, insurance)
- Illegal goods or services in your jurisdiction
- Gambling, casinos, betting
- Cryptocurrency, ICOs, token sales
- Get-rich-quick or pyramid schemes
- Adult content
- Pharmaceuticals and supplements making unsupported health claims
- Political campaigns and PACs (case-by-case)
Bounce and Complaint Thresholds
Sender accounts that exceed industry-standard thresholds are automatically paused and reviewed:
- Hard bounce rate over 5% in any 24-hour window
- Spam complaint rate over 0.1% (1 per 1,000)
- Unsubscribe rate over 0.5% on a recurring send
Reporting Spam
If you received spam from a Mailazy account, please report it via our Report Spam form. We investigate every report within 24 hours.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in immediate account suspension, termination, and forfeiture of any prepaid fees. We may also report violators to relevant authorities and anti-abuse networks.
